Arina didn't want to be a burden anymore.

She got herself clean, was progressing through NA, and had a steady volunteer position at the local YWCA. That was until an irresponsible motorcyclist ran into her down an alley way after her last therapy session. While in the biker's care that shattered her left arm, Arina finds herself falling for Koren, the mysterious man that holds such esteem and respect at the compound. His bargain for healing her? Arina had to marry him. Little did he know that her promise to marry him was a lie, and as soon as Arina could, she fled from the man she loved and the life he offered. She couldn't become his problem.

While on the run, Arina falls into the arms of her ex, whom she thought she had left behind, and in order to stay clean and off the streets, she agreed to return to his bed.

But Arina was oath bound to Koren now, and he wouldn't let her go.

I wouldn't believe my friends when they warned me this morning about the alien ships crashing around the world. It was April 1st, no sane person would believe something as idiot as that. And why would multiple ships crash all around the same time? Ridiculous. Of course, I was a sane person, and I went for my usual swim in the deep lagoon I loved. But that was my mistake, because my friends were right: aliens had crashed, and one of them landed in my lagoon.

What is this strange world I have landed on? My chest is pounding to a rhythm I have never experienced before. Could it be that the Elders were right? Is the bond I have heard about my entire life here, on this backward and distant planet? I have to know; I need to find the cause, and perhaps discover the reason for my being.

Reignition at the Con

Lucia hadn't seen Rayn since their encounter on the train, and the stress of missing out on his rock-solid body started to wear on her. For some reason, she couldn't bring herself to be with anyone else, and that had to stop. A weekend of geeky fun at the local Con would be just the ticket she'd need to let loose and open back up. Dressed as her favourite character, Kurumu Kurono, Lucia attends event after event looking to bring her some joy.

Rayn couldn't forget about how forward Lucia had been that morning on the train, but he had adamantly avoided the route he met her on. He couldn't get attached to anyone, not when his career was so flighty. He had nearly forgotten about Lucia, until attending the speed-dating event at the Con, and he ran headlong into her. Could Rayn really bring himself to let her back in, even though his heart and body yearned for her?

Rebecca hates Halloween. There is too much baggage with the date to give her any fond memories of it until her daughter passes her a flyer for what she assumes to be a college frat party that night.
